I am sure you are not confused but it appears that you are contradicting yourself.

Your first post chastised the educational system as a whole but then later explain that your "original post was concerning educators who, IMO, have gone off the deep end regarding their views on sexuality with children." In other words, you are only talking about some of them.

But in your second post you said to agree with a certain writer who looks at registered voters in the two major USA political parties as a way to demonstrate some absurd ideological view that political party affiliation is somewhat related to some unnamed thing, it is not clear what you are talking about. What is clear is that you are somehow trying to link your idea of “liberalism” to warped ideas espoused by some weird characters.

In the process you made an extremist comment: "they [these people you apparently dislike] also often think that 'we're smarter' than those outside of academia, which gives them a right to 'discriminate against people who get it wrong'." So I asked you very specifically if you really believed this statement.

Your answer avoided the issue again so I asked pointedly if you are against education. In your answer you mention the exchange of ideas. However, when looking at your attempt under the light of your other posts, it is apparent that the exchange of ideas you propose is one where there are only “right” ideas.

Since it is important to have other views, as extreme as they may be, for the reason of exchanging ideas, what you are advancing is a one-sided, one-book education, the one that constructs a world of robots.

And the contradiction is when you show yourself as a champion of exchanging ideas you are at the same time advocating the suppression of those that make you uncomfortable.
