What can we do to reform the system. If I knew the answer - I could be king. What I have seen, at least in the U.S., there is a very poor system set up for foster care and also for health insurance. For the Yates case, the health insurance failed her by giving her under par psychiatric care. All this to save costs.

In the foster care system set up here, there is widespread child abuse and many deaths at the hands of the foster parents. It's awful, it's a business and not a very good one. Adoption should be much easier. Why do we have people going abroad to adopt children? Because they make it so hard to adopt here in the states. They actually don't want people to adopt so they can keep the business of foster care working. I think that even if people are gay, they should be able to adopt, even though the ideal is to have two parents, a mother and a father. It's better than languishing in foster care. Also, they should set up orphanages again, government run so that there is more control and more regulations. It's too easy for people to become foster parents just for the money and then abuse the children.
