I'm glad your hubby loves you enough to let you be. It reminds me about what the Judge, in the British Court Case, said to James Penn about self determination for the kids - how important it is. I think with our first generation adult population it has been a growing and a learning process. After all, a lot of us joined to recover from something and we were 'babes' when we joined , really. I guess we've wised up, haven't we?
I know that 'that kind of thinking' - the rigid fundamentalist kind, has been around for ions. Jesus himself had to confront the Scribes and Pharacees about it remember? It's actually quite a common defense mechanism - pharaceism. And then he went on to say that except our righteousness exceed theirs, we would in no wise enter the kingdom of heaven. Well, I know what He meant by that now.
I'm sure Berg's matriarical mother had alot to do with his being what he was. My mother is the same. It's like she knows what's religiously right, but God, she sure doesn't connect what's in her head with what needs to come out of her heart too well at times.
Anyway, glad you've got a life now.
