It was very difficult for me to leave the identity of being a member of the Children of God behind. I kept going back to try to fit in again. I couldn't accept that I wasn't able to fit in, and I still supported the group's general work as positive for years after I was gone. I considered it my fault that I was not wanted by the group. b I kept expressing doubts about various aspects of the group's theological position.
