Joined the CoG in early 1970 in LA, was taken to Texas, where I spent some time between "The Ranch", and Dallas, operating the ham radio.
Sometimes I will try using google maps (maps.google.com) to try to locate this place we called "The Ranch", to no avail. Does anyone know if it still exists, or if the grounds have been "razed". There was a pond, some bungalows, a gate, etc.
I do know that the mailing address was Rte.1, Mingus, Texas. I also know that the town of "Thurber" has been mentioned in various news articles.
If anyone knows a more precise location, related to the roads in that area, please let me know. I'd like to re-visit this place via google maps, satellite view, if possible. Every so often I re-visit places I've been, for therapeutic purposes, bringing closure, grieving, etc.
