Why is it that people keep expecting us to do their research for them? A lot of your questions could be answered if you bother to look up read for yourself all the stories already scattered all over this site. Put in some effort, use search words at Google: "site:exfamily.org MYSEARCHWORDS" and you'll find what you're looking for!

Here's giving you a headstart.

Joining a cult isn't like joining the girl scouts or signing your name on a membership form. Some people are gradually convinced over a period of time, others in the early days could be walking down the street and were pesented with such intense instant hypnotic brainwashing they dropped everything and followed and were never again seen by family and friends.

&gn;I'd like to know how you came to decide to join the family. did you approach them? did they approach you?

both

&gn;did they make promises of anything to lure you in?

yes

&gn;after you joined the family, did things change, meaning, where things not the way that you thought that they would be?

yes

&gn;i know that you are supposed to do full time mission work and pool your resources, did all members do this?

in principle yes, some more or less than others

&gn;were you ever made to feel that you weren't doing enough?

always
