I didn't get to go down to the mountain stream today; I don't live in the mountains, although there is a frozen creek out back. However, I did get to see the fields of black poke through the remaining snow cover, and I got to view the black and icy-blue pools of beginning melt water, the gold of early morning sunlit marshy grasses, the sienna of willows busting forth from the profusious backdrop of grey deciduous woods, the returning Canada geese, the bald eagle, the marsh hawk, the res tail, and the warm and inviting yellow of evening backlight om feeding deer heralding the north that spring has sprung. And I thank God I'm alive.
