That is a pretty scary article. Do you have confirming stuff or how accurate do you think the stats are? Not a doubt but interest from an empirical point.
I wonder if the 23000+ are individual incident reports which would mean there are not necessarily that many abusers but more scary, high numbers of multiple offenders. Some pedophiles will abuse many, many victims if given the chance and around lax standards.
In some ways the US system of non-reporting states sucks. In Canada the criminal code is federal and covers all provinces which make it a crime anywhere. Also each province has statutes making child abuse reportable by law. I wonder what the US federal statutes are on abuse.
I feel sorry for the JW's. It does not sound like they truly realize what kind of predatory life-forms pedophiles are. Wonder if any of the leadership members are on that list?
