In the Family if you are reported for doing child abuse you get excommunicated, that's a serious deterrant. Even if a current Family member had those tendencies would they risk total excommunication? Not likely. I'm not saying the Family is safer than society at large (like some exmembers I've read seem to think) but doesn't the Family have safeguards in place now that strongly deter child abuse?
