When I read your original post I saw a potential land mine for some but it was clear that the point was really a series of suggestions to those who are working on that subject.
I appreciate your honesty and explanations. As you put it, it helps to distance oneself from the emotional to intelectualize things and gain objectivity. The problem is that in many cases we lack the tools, which is not to mean intelect but framework and theory. As an example of the validity of your post, this short discussion has opened up some windows into my own life I wasn't too willing to look into. I can see how there are abusive patterns that I must deal with. I thought I had grown out of abusive interdependency when I left TF but you explanation and Jules answer has helped me greatly.
So, cheer up and thank you (for what is worth).
