There is truth to what you say with regard to the liberation Jesus preached and lived in his immediate circle. He was clearly ahead of his time and culture with regard to social reform. However, the early church quickly got sucked back into mainstream cultural values regarding the place & role of women, so that by the 3rd century AD, the original reformist vision was lost.
