I don't consider your views 'unchristian.' I'm not 100% what you are getting at though. Your image of heaven and hell seems to be the 'here and now' and not so much 'the hereafter.' That's fine though. I personally have no problem with looking at 'hell' or 'heaven' in a here-and-now way, but a lot of people are more concerned with the 'here-after' and they earnestly seek an answer to what happens when we die.
I believe that modern-day Christianity has a lot of hangovers from the Middle Ages (eternal torment for instance) that aren't necessarily Biblical. People get into the 'traditional' Christianity mode, and cling to traditional doctrines, not realizing that many, many doctrines thought of as Orthodox are really superstitions from the Middle Ages, or from when the pagans were broght into the Church.
I like the KISS concept to Christianity, which is KEEP IT SIMPLE.
