Well, same for me. I can sure see why a lot of people heave out any Christian faith after leaving the Family. I got out by doing a lot of reading of the Bible and seeing that what Berg said didn't line up with the Bible. When I realized the idiot wasn't a prophet that was it, I could start thinking rationally about everything again. After that it was easy to let everything else go and choose my own beliefs.

Easy enough for me since I was a Christian before I joined the Family. But I sure understand how someone who was 'led to the Lord' by the Family would just dump everything overboard and move on. If the Family was a lie, where do you stop and start believing anything he said? So they chuck the whole works. You can't blame them.

God made human being spiritual and people will still try to seek spirituality, but damned if they are not going to search for truth in the one place that caused them unimaginable pain. In the hellhole of incest, deception, hypocrisy, intolerant browbeating and torture.
