What a good way of illustrating it. I have wonderful children to be thankful for although it is not the way I would have done it. It would be nice to have avoided all the bumps and bruises we encountered. But that could happen anywhere and anytime, these things aren't limited to cult involvement only. I just saw the movie, Riding in Cars with Boys, which was quite good. The story is about a girl who wants to have fun and a good time and she does and in one silly moment, she gets pregnant and ends up having to live with the loser boyfriend who turns out to be an alcoholic and drug addict. For all intents and purposes her life is ruined, her dreams of college and a career, moving out of her home town and moving up, all dashed. She goes through many horrendous things but does manage to pull herself out of it. In the end she realizes it was because of her son that motivated her to pull through it all. Her mistake became her asset.
