Ray, that's because the F. has taken on different aspects

In different parts of the world. Haven't you heard the second gen talk? There are the supposed "conservatives" in the F. and then there are the "liberals" - I'm not so sure how they are referred to. In the afore mentioned case, the people that were visited were in this "conservative" part of the F. That would be in Asia. The more liberal part of the F. apparently is in Eastern Europe, Sweden, etc., and the States. It's almost as if it's an east vs. west cut off. The second gens in Europe would laugh at the silly songs and antics of the second gens from Asia - they thought of them as very old guard and square, so to speak. Of course, in F. speak - self-righteous.

I think Maria's recent tightening up is to cut off this new idea of liberty that was coming up from the grass roots of the second gens. Pity, they almost had her.
