"If, for example, a massive court case was brought against the Family, that would probably do the trick..."

I'm sure somebody has already explained this, but I'm not very legalese literate, and I really wonder how you can take out a massive court case against a non U.S. based organization, or even against individuals that don't live in the States.

None of us are D.A.'s so this must refer to civil suits. It's been ages since I lived in the States, and I guess I'm out of touch with what seems to be the all-American solution: "Let's sue...!"

But in reality, even if someone had the will for it and the money, who would they sue, how would the sue, and where would they sue?

And if someone did, how would that cause the Family to dismantle, most of whom are people who are scattered in small teams in a multitude of poor third world countries?
