Very interesting observation

It's gonna take me awhile to chew on all that. I do think that I was looking for love and accpetance as you say. There has to be something unhealthy going on when people end up depending on a group for their emotional well-being. I think of the gangs that sprung up so enormously in the last two decades. What I noticed about them is how much they remind of what developed in the F. They call themselves family, they have claimed that they got no respect, so they developed this sub-family to meet their needs. Somewhere, something along the line failed in our development of healthy relationships.

Also too, hubby reminded me that the hey-dey of FFing was simutaneously the hey-dey of the sexual revolution that was going on in the American west. It fit right in. Uncanny how Berg seemed to fit right in and was at the right place in the right time - i.e., hippies/drop out/hate the system and churches/wanting a revolution, etc., then the sexual liberties that were the late 70s through the late 80s. He sure knew how to captalize on the excessive trends of society.
