of course i recognize the truth of what you said. there is much loss and pain in my neck of the woods as well. pulling the threads out of the tapestry and examining them may be part of the process of analysis, i agree. but unless we try to keep in mind how they were woven into a broader fabric, and part of a bigger picture, well, we risk a new distortion of the big picture, don't we?

sorry for the gagging. i may not see things in quite the same way as rocky or yourself, or perhaps any of the usual posters here. but i find that understanding usually deepens in dialogue w/ different perspectives, not just w/ whom we agree on all points. i don't believe i either excuse nor minimize the tragedies. we've lived thru a few and i'm capable of both anger and pain. however, there seems little need for this understanding to reinforced in this company. but discussing the question of reintegrating our experiences, human and spiritual, might benefit from some discussion beyond a simple "amen, brother." ?? am i wrong about this?
