repost - Acheick's Hare Krishna story

Posted by tazy on October 21, 2003 at 19:23:26

My Gawd, you made me laugh. It never ceases to amaze me at the child's point of view of things, as opposed to us FGA.

Don't forget the incredible perfume from pure oils they have. That was the best part. Did you ever hear my story of the Hare Krishna in Melbourne? We used to witness to them, this was around '72. One day I was in the "colony" all by myself - maybe cause I was pg and sick so everyone went out and I was by myself. We had this strange back yard that was just cement with an outdoor toilet and a food shed and a low fence. I guess he had come in through the back and was waiting for me by the back porch. He kind of freaked me out, but I remembered him from witnessing to him on the street. He started confiding in me that he didn't want to be Hare Krishna anymore and I can't remember exactly where the conversation went, but he gave me a little bottle of perfume oil as a gift. He jumped over the fence and I never saw him again, but I never forgot. I always wondered how he was and what happened to him.
