Exer is right on the mark about Koresh being a sexually abusive leader of a cult. Koresh claimed he was Christ, and made all his female followers have sex with him.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF) and the FBI totally screwed up on that raid in Waco, just like they did at Ruby Ridge and so many other less publisized storm-trooper actions.

Those women and children didn't have to die. Koresh regularly frequented a local tavern in Waco, and the feds could have nabbed him without incident by waiting for him to go there. They chose to put on a show for the media instead, by surrounding the farm with tanks and SWAT teams.

Koresh had been stockpiling weapons, including some unregistered machine guns, so the feds were right to go after him, but not the way they did it in the end. I lay a lot of the blame for this trajedy at the feet of Clinton and his little butch attack-dog Janet Reno.
