I must admit, I am not exactly sure what glandular fever is. Off the bat, for almost any infection, viral or bacterial, I would recommend good doses of both Vit. C and garlic, hourly at first, and slowly back off.

I bought empty gelatin capsules and slice up raw garlic, fill up the caps and freeze them to give the kids every day and I up the dose when they are sick.

If you have a health-food store, get yourself some echinacea tincture or capsules, tincture may be easier for swallowing, and take it every few hours at first, then slowly back off.

I use a lot of essential oils in healing, as well as herbal teas. Some of the main oils I use are thyme, oregano, lemon, clove, tea-tree. If you choose to use EOs, please make sure you buy pure therapeutic grade oils, that can be used internally (hard to find and more expensive, but worth the investment as far as health goes).

You would want to identify the root of the sickness, is it something you get often, is it from exposure, is it linked to other health problems in your body, and after you recover, focus then on a deeper healing to rid your body of any other problems. Many people don't realise that the sickness is really just a sympton of deeper problems in the body which can be linked to exposure to toxins, not healing properly from a former illness, a diet that may lack in some of the essential vitamins and minerals, or an exessive intake of foods filled with preservatives and other chemicals which have stored in the body.

But Vit C (and I would recommend the pure powdered form vs. chewing tablets) and garlic are high on the list of healing foods--oh yes, parsley! (make a tea of it with honey).

Echinacea and goldenseal for herbs--good for general use and infections.

I would not recommend antibiotics, just cause I am assuming this is a viral infection, and antibiotics are ineffective for viral infections.
