and it just gets weirder and weirder. Your poor dad needs some serious counseling. However, being that he hasn't been in a home for so long, he's probably in this time warp and thinks things are the way they were when he was in it. But why isn't he in it now? Why is he happy to "work" in the system? How do these people reconcile that? These are hard questions I bet they cannot answer. Then they give this lame diatribe about how they are going to get silver instead of gold, but at least they won something, for heaven's sake!

Don't feel bad, I get the same thing from my ex - he tells my children that "I" have corrupted them. Then they have to sit there and explain to him why they think the way they do. Usually, I'm the one to blame, that's always the way it has been. I'm one of those horrible "detractors" apparently. The worse thing is he told my daughter's husband that his wife (my daughter) was "turning out just like her mother" - in other words, wanting to be an equal rather than a subordinate or underling in a marriage - horror of horrors.
