This race reminds me of Carter vs. Ford

Back in that presidential race, the voters (including me) were motivated by hatred of Nixon. Ford pardoned Nixon for Watergate, so we hated Ford. We didn't so much vote *for* Jimmy Carter as we voted *against* Ford. We were motivated by hatred of the Nixon/Ford administration.

In hindsight, we can now see what a big mistake it was to let our vote choice be guided by hate. The inept Carter administration gave us double-digit inflation, unemployment, and interest rates that toped 18 percent!

Now it's deja-vue all over again with Bush versus Kerry. The polls of democrat voters indicate tepid support for Kerry. They are more motivated by their blind hatred of Bush, and are willing to vote for anybody who they think can beat him. For the sake of our nation, I pray this isn't deja-vue all over again. Yeah, Bush has his problems and faults, but considering his politically radical oponent, the choice is pretty clear to me.
