However, the desire to polirize the population into those camps may produce irreversible and terrible results.
I don't know what the solution is to the danger but it is a danger. The statistics you mention in your post are almost natural among people of traditinal Christians values who believe in good and evil but to classify compatriots in such a way while at the same time demonizing their beliefs is setting up the conditions for something that may turn out to be historical undesirable. In fact it is almost equivalent to the legal concept of "fighting words". The result could be horrendous.
