I didn't see the film, but one of my daughters did and was telling me about it.

From what she said, this guy went from eating a very healthy diet, to suddenly eating nothing but McDonnalds on a constant basis.

When I was doing my general ed in college, I took nutrition for my science requirement. It really was one of the best classes I ever took. Basically, we will be healthy if we eat a balanced diet featuring a variety of foods.

Vegitarians often find themselves in a very unhealthy state because they don't get all of the seven essential amino acids that we get from animal products (not just meat, but eggs and milk). It can be done, but it takes a variety of different plant foods and many people screw it up and end up sick as a result.

I don't think it is a bad thing to eat Hagen Daz, if you only do it occasionally. The problem is that most people who like it, eat it every day in large quantities.

Consuming anything in large quantities on a constant basis is bad for you. As you point out, even water can kill you if you drink to much of it:
