They did lose the election. It's known now that if all the votes had been counted carefully and scrupulously all over Flordia, not just in a few cities, that Gore would've won.
And of course we still might've had this war with Leiberman as VP. He's the only Democrat who STILL boasts (yes, boasts) that he wholeheartedly supported the war against Iraq.
It's also a fact that the Bush team did sloppy pre-war intelligence about the WMDs that Iraq supposedly (still) had. So where did they get their info from? Time Magazine says they got it from the Israelis who wanted the invasion of Iraq more than any other country.
Hence my arguement that Leiberman would have been pushing for an invasion of Iraq had the Democrats actually gotten into the White House. Would it have happened just the same? Maybe not, but it wouldn't have beenfor lack of trying.
