I have a lot of liberal leanings too. It seems that some of these are minority viewpoints here too, I even got called a Moore cultie. I'm grateful that for the most part the discussion here is, as you say, an acceptance of our differing viewpoints.

Actually, I initially supported the Bush administration’s Iraq invasion. Since then my mind has changed. A lot has contributed to that.

I’m an American living in Europe (Switzerland). Here people are not anti-American. They like America and Americans. But on the whole they are very anti-Bush administration. This has invariably influenced me. Bush has become an embarrassment. But the good news is the latest poll: “Fifty-four percent of those polled said it was a mistake to send U.S. troops to Iraq, compared with 41 percent who expressed that sentiment in early June. Most respondents to the poll, 55 percent, also said they don't believe the war has made the United States safer from terrorism -- rejecting an argument that President Bush has repeatedly advanced in his rationale for the war.” (USA Today-Gallup)Things like this get in the news here.

And most Europeans feel the same, that the Bush administration’s actions has only increased the number of Osamas and other terrorists.

I was glad when the troops got to Bagdad and Saddam went down. It how things have gone since then that creates the problems. I’m really hoping and praying the handover works.
