For me the effects of having been in TF came some years after leaving. I married my first wife while in TF (we had joined to gether as bf/gf and been split up for a year before finding our way back to each other on the annual "go home and witness to your family" thing).

However, after the kids came along, and we drifted away from the F, the history of that whole late 70's early 80's time had completely taken its toll on our relationship, and we separated.

To me that had a bigger effect on our kids, and for many years I was out of touch with them as I struggled to rebuild a new life (on the other side of Australia). I have now reconneced with my first lot of kids to a certain extent, now that they are grown up. But the feelings of guilt that stemmed from all those years ago still is in the back of my mind - I can never undo that. For my kids the effect was secondary because while in TF because they were so young we sheilded them from all the crap, but they still ended up suffering because of it.
