I just want to clarify a point in your following statement:

"It is a disservice to us to start with if anybody who claims to write for us, or as an expert on our behalf as ex-members uses the word apostate."

I'm not sure if you're referring to me or not. If so, I don't claim that anything I write is done for anyone else or for the benefit of anyone else, unless I specify that, of course. I can only speak and write for myself, unless delegated or contracted to do otherwise.

I am almost horrified to be quoting Peter, but in his email to Jim that is posted in a thread above, he states:

"... as you well know, there is no one spokesperson that represents the broad spectrum of the former member community."

I'm certainly no spokesperson, I merely write my experience. But like you pointed out, to be true to my experience I can't accept negative, inaccurate labels that doen't apply to me.

Thanks for keeping me on my toes. Aaahhh. It feels good to stretch.
