Greek-symbol/"letter"...read by the normal people as Latin X....the result being, that anyone with some rememberance of early algebra knows, that x is a common variable...or worse as a picture means: to cross something out...

In other words, even if you could trace all that historically...someone starting early with that
nonsense (would we like our names to be reduced, my question???)...the big question is, what result has it in the mind...in some dictatorships you couldn't mention the name either without repercussions...

Reminds me of what I read recently in the newspaper about the seasonsgreeting of Walmart vs. Donahue...and also the Whitehousegreetingcard.Was quite informative.
