Is scientology the reason you won't cite your information sources?

Posted by CB on February 17, 2006 at 12:26:13

I am familiar with the standards used in pharmaceutical company drug trials and what's problematic about these drug trials as research. I also know about independent research on the SSRIs by investigaros who are NOT paid by the pharmaceutical companies.

I evaluate information by its source, plausability, internal consistency, and scientific rigor. Most (if not all) of the information you've provided in your posts can be traced back to Scientology, an organization that has mounted a 20-year campaign against SSRIs.

Please understand that you're talking to someone who has looked into this controversy. I have an open mind, and I am deeply concerned about the fact that SSRIs and other psychotropic medications are being overprescribed in the U.S., particularly to children & adolescents. That said, I'm not impressed by the type of arguments about SSRIs that you are making, and even more so now that you appear unwilling to cite your information sources.
