It isn't necessarily so?

"There are a lot of causes I could jump on the bandwagon of, say, Save the Whales, Justice for the Palestinians, Stop US Aggression, Gay Rights, you name it - there are causes like sand on the beach."

Morally, you have more responsibility for putting out fires you stoked. So if you gave as much of your life to killing whales, bulldozing Palestinian homes, fighting US wars and gay bashing, you are correct.

Why do I find it hard to imagine that living in the Family until 8 years ago might have left little of your life to devote to these other noxious causes?

Whatever lets you sleep at night. Apparently it helps you to call it “Abolish the Children of God” instead of "making whole the children they devoured who can still be helped".

Those who you referred to as having their lives basically ahead of them will see history reflect the likes of you in a light you will not be able to dictate the intensity of.
