"I have found from experience that ex sg's do not make things up."

So true Susie. Even Justice Ward found that out with regard to Mene's testimony. Throughout that judgement Ward criticised Family witnesses for being deceitful with the court, withholding evidence, etc. However, when it came to Mene's testimony he found her very reliable. At first he admitted that some of her testimony seemed almost too bizarre to be real, the exorcisms and such. But then he was able to read some of TF's own publications regarding Mene and he quickly realized that not only had Mene been truthful, but that she had in no way embellished her story. If anything, he said, she tended to minimize some things.

I'm with you. Every sg story I've read is entirely believable to me because although I may not have personal knowledge of the specific details, I do know intimately the environment, the culture, the doctrines, etc, that were/are conducive to the kinds of horror stories so many sgs have to tell.
