Not according to my information

Perhaps things are better now. I am referring to the late 1980's when there was a lot more hype about AIDS, befre the education and awareness campaigns sank in a bit more. The witnesses I have received the information from said the policy was not official, but there were definitely restrictions on talking about it.

Shunned is defined as: To avoid deliberately; keep away from.

The emargination you describe, where people are ordered to live apart from the others, is shunning in my opinion, especially if combined with orders not to discuss their illness (shunning them in conversation), and if they are asked to use separate silverware, or asked to pray about why God allowed them to get afflicted with HIV (shunning them in status or class) so they can't serve God.

Was it some or all who were shunned? So far the ones I know of were shunned. I meant to leave it open to the possibility there were more cases I don't know of, of people who were not shunned. Based on the information I have so far, these people were shunned.
