Tornado, that's an interesting account you posted. I have just one minor quibble. You provide a link to xFamily.org in your blog and then write: "Above is a pretty accurate description of this group. Child and drug-abusing hippies." I doubt very much that you read on xFamily that Family members are "drug-abusing hippies" so writing that makes the rest of what you write just a little bit less credible. Perhaps you were just in a hurry when you checked out xFamily and confused salvation testimonies, e.g., "I was a dirty, drug-abusing hippy until The Family's Jesus saved me", for the life-style of active members.
Drug abuse within The Family was never an issue and if it did occur it was rare. And I doubt very much it is an issue with current members, unless you consider religion itself a dangerous, addictive drug.
