That would be terrible, to be accused of False Memory Syndrome. It would be as wrong and hurtful as being called a liar by perpetrators that harmed you, which is a common thing for perps of sexual abuse to children to do- call their victims LIARS.
Unfortunately, FMS has been a mis-used defense just like the insanity defense at times has been.
I agree that when people who have been seriously abused talk about their memories, it is generally under-exaggerated and many (relating to you here) tend to not claim anything that is not a solid memory.
Like some parts I still don't remember that my friend, many years later told me about.
I remember feeling numb and in a sort of shock.
I could remember thinking of hiding in a closet, but I didn't realize that I actually did do that. But I did not escape the continued abuse.
Unfortunately, sexual abuse and physical abuse and neglect is all too common for way way too many children.
