I write trembling to be told that I said something I didn't or that I implied something you didn't.

I think that you are right on many points but I also think that there are a few things you are assuming. For example, one word (support) is troublesome. What one person seeks or interprets as support may be actually be an enabling condescending attitude. A question, honestly posed, or an innocent comment may easily be seen as aggression. I understand what you are saying but to "sanitize" any communications to suit only certain points of view, those that are seen by some as neutral and not offensive, in my opinion, is a dangerous route to go.

Personally, I'd rather have a board where I can speak up my mind with the understanding that I am doing it in good faith without wanting to offend anybody. Will there be misunderstandings, yes, and I am willing to explain myself and apologize if necessary. I see that as a supportive environment. The bottom line is "good faith", that is conversations without agendas.
