Learning From Young People

I am a Youth/Young Adult pastor in my church. Since taking this position this past April I marvel how I don't have a clue with young people. If I presume I know a lot I deceive myself. Much of my time aside from preparation for services and activities consists of reading on how to relate to those younger than myself. It is very interesting as the other youth pastors I associate with are mostly 20 something rather than the 50 something I am. Much of my time since exiting TF has been learning from those younger than me. Probably one thing that has made this process easier is that from being associated with the cult for many years is that my growth was stunted. Each day is a challenge to learn and also teach the wonderful kids in our group. The most fun is being a part of the youth/worship band. I get to be led by someone who is 22 years old who knows more than I forgot!
