I think "messianic" and "messianic etiquette" definitely apply to Berg. Just consider his personal mythology that he created to convince us of his special connection to God. How he claimed he was prophesied over on three separate occasions unconnected to each other, each time with the message that he was a fulfillment of an Old Testament prediction. How he supposedly refused to accept it at first, being such a "humble" nobody, and then slowly comes to see that only he could be the one, the last, the end-time prophet. In letter after letter he pounded home the idea that he was the Lord's Annointed, even though he didn't want the job, and that his words were God's words. They still teach that he is on the right hand of God, giving God's words to TF from heaven. You can hardly get more messianic than that.

Berg's myth is a myth that definitely doesn't have any legs; it will wilt and die as the lie it is, taking The Family with it and leaving a legacy of death and abuse of all kinds.
