I believe home churches are good.It depends on the demographic of your church, size, location etc. In China for example there has to be home churches because if the government. As far as renting it could be good in some respects, but not the smartest thing economically. If a church ows the land and the buildings there is the possibilty for any change and expansion that is needed. Where I pastor our church is small, and in a older residential neighborhood. We have 3 buildings. The main sanctuary, the youth building, and children's church building. There is also a parking area. It is true that churches may have moved away fro the simplicity of the early times, but it also depends on what respect is meant. We do not live in the early times, we live in the times of mass, and muti-media and that is a blessing for the church to reach the world. Speaking of church I've got to leave now to go. I have a service to lead in 1 hour and 15 minutes.
