I like the way you think.
I thought it was nice of you too, to be so accommodating and willing to change your handle. I like Mir for its symbolism but I can easily change it to its English translation. (And now people will associate it to its female imagery).
On your other question, there were several boards over the years. I don't remember their names now. The only ones I am aware of besides this one are the NDN (of course), movingon and Xfamily. To be fair, NDN is probably the most democratic but I am more of a totalitarian (if you were to believe my children). It's just not for me.
The traffic here is moderate and as soon as my vacations are over I will go back to mostly reading.
For my new hanld I was thinking on the lines of MeMir, He Mir, or Mini Mir (ha!) but ultimately, I like Peace.
