...well said. I share your sentiments. Even after the RNR, where they threw away just about all the rules, let all leadership go - they reigned in things even more tight than ever after a few years. When they realized that their support was waning, the Family was becoming very independent and wild - they quickly reversed course and what followed was a slow but ever so devastating crack-down that led to the super controlled environs the Family was in until just now.
We'll have to wait and see. They dwindled down to just a handful and if this trend continues there won't be any people left to tighten up and reign in again.
This all reminds me a lot of the demise of communism. When it became clear that the model had failed and everyone was broke, their industries decrepit, their military without funds and support, their politics in total disarray - they came up with Glasnost and Perestroika. Then came the desperate attempt by some old hard liners to reign it all back in with force and the old model and way of thinking. When that failed everything around them collapsed...
The same could happen to Israel in the very near future if they keep on relying on their old tricks. In that case they'll be history too.
