I realize it is only natural that the conversation in this thread focused on the main event, i.e., Gaddafi. However, the quotation I provided was actually intended to point out how Berg, who claimed to be able to predict the future, was oblivious to the fact that his comments about children rebelling against their parents would one day apply to his own family and followers.

I guess I just didn't express myself clearly enough to make that point. Here's a quotation from an Op-Ed piece in the NYT that makes the point better than I did:

"What is most striking about the rhetoric of the rebellion is how the anticolonialist theme that Colonel Qaddafi once deployed has now been turned against him..."


In the same way, Who Are the Rebels?, came back to haunt Berg and his cult when "their children [rebelled] against, not only them, but the fake society they've created--the false religion, false economy, hypocritical dress and appearance."



Berg was the hypocritical pig who took over the farm and became more oppressive than the farmer.
