Spanking was not practiced by all parents when I was growing up and I don't see that it helped me at all. Really, whether being spanked on the butt or slapped in the face, it is all humiliating and painful and leads to further violence as kids act this out on each other and then grow up to do the same. Glad we are progressing in society and that corporeal punishment in schools is no longer an acceptable practice, even in the South where I live.
