This sort of sexual experimentation was widespread in the late 60s and early 70s, especially on the west coast of the USA. I don't think boomers' swinging slowed down until the AIDs epidemic hit in the mid 80s.
I was into this sort of thing in the late 60s, which is why I wasn't sold when Berg's "One Wife" and "All Things" doctrines came out in the mid-70s. Been there, done that before I ever joined COG. Berg's unique contribution was telling people that a nonmonogamous lifestyle was God's will. Fortunately, I knew the Bible and Christian teaching well enough not to buy into Berg's BS. Also, I knew what I wanted and what I didn't want, and free love was off my "to do" list.
