The Shepherds appear to view Rick's murder/suicide as Karen's private tragedy, something not particularly relevant in the group's development and evolution. Rick was conceived in a testimony to FFing, raised to be Berg's "Mini-Me," prophesied about, groomed for leadership, encouraged to "love it up" with mom and the crew. His whole life up to the point he left TFI was a sick social experiment in which his mother openly and enthusiastically participated.

Oops. Couldn't quite fit that massive datapoint into the narrative, eh, Professors Shepherd?
