No I didn't get therapy, in fact the thought never even occurred to me. As I've said, my upbringing wasn't all that bad. I don't deny the horror stories, but bad stuff happens everywhere.
I don't believe the family was a good place to raise your kids and it was undoubtedly a very messed up place. Given hindsight most of the first generation that I've met including my own parents agree. I was just saying that my own childhood was generally a happy one though my teenage years were less so.
