I can't have a cat because most dogs have eating disorders when it comes to..ugh..litter boxes!
Here's a puppy tale:
When we got each of the three dogs we have, it was not my idea. I said NO! but put a puppy in my arms and it is OVER.
That happened with each ONE. When the oldest one, the aussie mix was a puppy she was in such bad shape she looked like a Dr. Suess critter. She was overly long looking with a tiny head and a tail that looked like a rubber band and she didn't have much hair. She had an umbilical hernia that required surgery and so we took her back to the shelter vet to get her operated on.
We were to leave her overnight but I was crushed when I saw the look on her face when she went back in the cage at the shelter. I put her little red gingerbread man looking toy in with her and the cage door shut and she dropped down and gave me the saddest, saddest look.
On the way home I started to cry and well we ended up going back to get her after asking the vet if we could please take her home and bring her back an hr. before her surgery. He said yes.
Did you ever see the movie "The Professional"? If you did, she had that same look on her face as the little girl did when the hitman opened the door and let her in..
That night she slept on a pillow between us..
