an atheist saying "Thank God I am an atheist" is not necessarily an oxymoron. Why? Because you have to know the definition of what "God" is to the atheist.
It may be a person, it may be an acronym like "Good Orderly Direction". GOD would have to be defined. Now there is a problem for the math nerds.
Any way you look at it, describing God equals INFINITY because of the endless possible meanings of the word and because some Gods can be defined while others cannot.
