Tons of errors in history of all kinds of religious people...just read by "accident" Joshua 7 today about the theft of Achan...you rob somebody elses wife, like in TF, & expect God to be with you...the theft of Achan was not known to the Isrealites, but through their defeat they knew then, that God was not with them (vs. 12) & only by repentence & abiding by what HE orderered , they were successful
In the NT - John 8:31,32 - it talks about abiding in Jesus words - not Bergs twisted version of the NT - following the advice, then we'd perceive the truth...I mean Berg got off the beam so many times, it's sad, we still thought, God was with him....the same is true for so many sects & sure, in disobeying God's word/truth, they have some similarities throughout the ages.But actually none is free from fault in his walk of faith (1.John 1:8)...it's also the degree in my opinion & the ready attitude, to repent, if errors are pointed out.
